VERA

Vera is a South Korean music producer and songwriter.
She tasked me with creating an identity that matched her music and her passion.

The Identity

Working mostly in electronic music, I felt she would be best represented by a technical, energetic aesthetic.
To achieve this, I created a triangle-based type system and introduced dimension.

The Origin

Vera's design began as a reflection of an audio waveform. Using the angular nature of the characters that made up her name, I sketched and saw an exploitable pattern.

The Evolution

Affixing her name to this waveform seemed like an obvious conclusion at the time. But adding folds and removing the backing triangles allowed me to add dimension and a far more dynamic aesthetic.
